RESUMO

The curriculumin academic medicine is defined by writing effective Learning objectives (LO). LO iselaborated based on perceptions of unbiased written aspects,of course, the rationale in statements is explained and tested through the completion of educational activity. These are the foundations for defining the outcomes in building up strong educational policieswhich are instructionalaligned through predefined effective curriculum courseswith added mapped outcomes. This letter provides the ongoing aspect of the development of Homoeopathic education in India regulated by the National Commission for Homoeopathy for the subject course of Advance Teaching of Fundamentals of Homoeopathy (ATFH). The essential components for the ATFHsubject course with LO and outcome assessment is been discussed and would provide a new arena of academic research in building up rationale in the programed [Doctor of Homoeopathy(MD,(Hom).

RESUMO

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) caused by novel beta-coronavirus has emerged as a cause of coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) declared by Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). Korean oriental medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and Indian systems of medicine known as AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Sowa-Rigpa and Homeopathy) had implemented various prophylactic measures and interim treatment guidelines in prevention and treatment for COVID -19 cases. However, even though different approaches were implemented to break the epidemic chain, we have not reached herd effect or herd immunity in the Indian population. Therefore, in this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a specific study on immune markers of IL-6 (Interleukin-6), D-Dimer, Ferritine, CRP (C-reactive protein) with SARS CoV-2 specific IgG & IgM antibodies need to be investigated for generating hard-core evidence for homeoprophylaxis in terms of immunity response. Therefore, there seems to be a need to revisit the program of homeoprophylaxis in the COVID -19 pandemic.

RESUMO

IntroductionDiabetes Mellitusis an emerging endocrine and metabolic disorder which has affected millions of people globally. Homeopathic system of medicine uses ultra-molecular doses for treatment of Diabetes Mellitus. Homeopathic medicines are prepared from plant, mineral, sarcodes, nosodes and animal parts. Insulinum 6 CH, Pancreatinum 6CH and Uranium nitricum 6 CHareused in homeopathy for treatment of Diabetes Mellitus. However,no preclinical studies have been investigated for the anti-diabetic effect and its safety.MethodsHomeopathic medicines Insulinum 6CH, Pancreatinum 6CHandUranium nitricum6CH(1012)dilution factor were used to examine antihyperglycemic effects in streptozotocin induced diabetic rats. After 28 daysoftreatment, bodyweight, Hematology, Biochemistry (serum glucose, urea, creatinine, SGPT, SGOT, ALP, Triglyceride and HDL-cholesterol), Oral Glucose Tolerance Test, HbA1C with histopathologyof (Liver, Kidney, Pancreas) weremeasured.ResultsAfter Streptozotocin induction, the animals have shown significant increase in the fasting blood glucose level (p<0.01) as compared to normal control animals. Treatment with homeopathic medicine Insulinum 6CH, Pancreatinum 6CHandUranium nitricum6CHpotency showed significant decrease in levels of Glucose (p<0.05), OGTT, Total protein (P<0.001), ALP (P<0.05), Cholesterol (P<0.001), SGPT (P<0.001), SGOT (p<0.01), Urea, HbA1C as compared to diabetic animal.ConclusionsIn the present study homeopathic medicine Insulinum 6CH, Pancreatinum 6CH andUranium nitricum6CHpotency exhibitantihyperglycemic effects in streptozotocin induced diabetic rats.(AU)

RESUMO

Objective: The objectives of the study were to clinically evaluate the role of Rhus toxicodendron, a homoeopathic medicine, in its various attenuations (Q, 30C, 200C, 1M) prescribed as a single medicine or with other homeopathic medicines for relieving the signs and symptoms of arthritic disorders and also to determine their useful potencies, frequency of administration and building up a new dose repetition protocol and guidelines for practice. Methods: It was a multi-centric, observational study carried out between the years 2016-2018. A total of 91 patients with arthritic disorder were selected according to the pre-defined parameters. The detailed case recording was done for each case and the patients were monitored for assessing the status of their condition according to the pre-defined criteria and the results were evaluated. Results: Out of the 91 patients, 78 patients improved in varying degrees with marked improvement seen in 34 patients, moderate in 27 patients and mild in 17 patients. No improvement was seen in 13 patients. Conclusion: Outcome of the study shows that homeopathic medicines are useful in managing arthritic disorders. However, further study with predefined laboratory and radiological investigation needs to be conducted. Other objectives of the study which included identifying the most useful potencies of Rhus toxicodendron and their frequency of administration could not be achieved. From the available results, a dose repetition observation has been provided and further study for new repetition protocol and guidelines is being formulated for conducting further trials.

RESUMO

Background Diabetes Mellitus a metabolic disorder affects the secretion of insulin from pancreas leading to hyperglycemia, if uncontrolled leads to complications triggered by free radical formed after oxidative stress. Homeopathic medicine Cephalandra Indica has shown antidiabetic activity in various potencies performed on preclinical studies on diabetic rat model. The present review highlights the pharmacological profile of homeopathic preparations Cephalandra Indica on preclinical studies and calculating the probable human equivalent dosage from preclinical studies for the pilot studies. Method Articles published between January 1988 and December 2018 was included in review. Databases like PubMed Medline, Google scholar were used for collecting the articles. Keywords like 'Homeopathy' or 'Homoeopathy', 'Invitro', 'Invivo' and 'Cephalandra Indica' were used. SABEH criteria were implemented for assessing methodology quality of articles. Results Seven full text articles were included in review which had six Invivo studies and one Invitro study. This review article provided the scientific validation of high diluted homeopathic medicines pharmacological activity of Cephalandra Indica and probable mechanism of action confirmed through preclinical studies. Conversion of dosage from animal model to human dosage for pilot studies has been hypothetically proposed. Conclusion Homeopathic medicine Cephalandra Indica has a therapeutic and safety profile with no toxicity observed in preclinical studies. The proposed hypothesis of conversion of dosage needs to be validated for further studies. (au)
